Maps

This page shows some maps of the Petersburg, the park, and the surrounding area that might be useful for reference. In all likelihood I'll be spending most of my time around the Eastern Front and visitor center (second map from top). However, I'll probably at least mention areas on each of the maps below. I've had to break the park map into four smaller pieces because the complete map would either be too large to fit on the page or too small to read the labels. I apologize that the labels are, in some cases, still a bit small and at the same time the maps sort-of take over the page. The formatting for them puzzles me a bit and I'll fix them later if I can figure out how.

Map #1 - The northern/eastern most part of the park and U.S. Grant's headquarters at City Point. Beginning of the tour route.

Map #2 - The Eastern Front  area of the park, which saw the most action and major fighting of entire Petersburg siege.

Map #3 - Shows Poplar Grove National Cemetery and the eastward extensions of the Confederate and Union siege lines.

Map #4 - The eastern/southern most part of the park. Shows the Five Forks part of the battlefield and the end of the tour route.
